There is a fairly straightforward way to have each post we add to our blog sent to you via email.  Its a handy way to read the post without getting on the website, and you can click on it from your email to come to the site to leave a comment if you like.
See the small button up in the right corner?   The button looks like this    Its the RSS feed button.  An RSS feed is a way to "subscribe" to a blog or webpage, that informs you when there has been new content added. So, it will let you know every time we write a new blog post.

Step 1 is to click on the button.  It takes you to the Google feedburner page displayed here.

On this page, you can subscribe to our blog either by email or by using a number of blog readers that are on the web.  The many readers shown in the box on the right side are useful if you have a number of different blogs you look at each day.  You can enter all of them in a reader and just go to the reader to see all of them in a more organized way rather than having to go to each website.  But, if you are already reading blogs, then you probably know about this stuff and you probably don't need my instructions. I'm writing this for those of us new to the blogging game that just want an easy way to see the posts without having to check a web page every day to see if there is a new one.

Step 2 is to click on the blue, underlined wording that says, "Get Small Water Supply delivered by email".   It's in the same box as all of the reader links. That will bring up a pop-up box that looks like this:

Here simply add in your email address in the first box and type in the funny letters in the bottom box to verify you are a real person. Sometimes the verification letters are really hard to read, if that's the case, close the box and repeat Step 2, and you should get a different set of letters in the verification part that will hopefully be easier to read.  Unfortunately, they are necessary to protect all of us from spam.

After filling in both boxes, click on "Complete Subscription Request" to finish.

The following box will appear, saying it accepted your request.

Just click on "Close Window"

Step 3 is to go check your email.  After a few minutes, you should get an email that looks like this:

Click on the link.  If nothing happens, then highlight the link and cut and paste it into your web browser and load it.  Once it comes up in your web browser, you should see this:

Thats it.  Anytime we put up a new blog post, you will get an email that shows you the content of the post.  You can click on the title to come to our webpage if you have something to share.

Is there a way to get a "daily digest" e-mail of blog posts each day, rather than individual e-mail notifications every time something is posted? Just trying to keep down the clutter in my inbox.

We don't see there being multiple blog posts in a day too often, but there certainly could be a series of comments for a given interesting topic that could lead to multiple emails in a day. I would argue that you would want to be notified if someone commented after you so that you could address their comment, if directed to you, or if someone offered additional information that might be helpful. It also seems likely that this would be a rare occurrence, and would only happen with a post you commented on in the first place. My thought is, once the site is launched, and the forum is up, if we have topics in a blog post that start a good dialogue, we would want to move them to the forum. It seems more appropriate. I know I get frustrated when I see a blog post that has 100 comments, all listed in a row over a matter of months or even years.
